NTSE Winner 2009

1. What is NTSE? How does it benefit students?

NTSE(National Talent Search Examination) is conducted for students studying in Class VIII by NCERT to identify talented students. NTSE scholars win recognition as the most promising students of thier age group. Students who are awarded these scholarships recieve financial assistance up to the Ph.D. level for studies in social sciences, basic sciences and commerce. Those pursuing professional courses such as engineering, medicine, management and law are eligible to recieve financial assistance up to the master's degree level.

The examination is conducted in 2 levels, i.e., State and National. Both these examinations consist of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and Mental Abilities Test (MAT). SAT covers the subjects Physics Chemistry, Mathematics, Bilogy, History, Civics and Geography. Shortlisted students will undergo a final interview to become awardees

2. What is NMMS? How does it benefit the winners?

NMMS examination also aims to identify bright students from families whose annual income is less than 1,50,000/-. A Student who qualifies through the National Merit cum Means Examination will qualify for a scholarship from class IX to class XII.

2. How does the Preparation help in future?

The NTSE is the very first All India competitive exam a student will face in life. NTSE Winner will help reinforce their subject-specific knoledge and enhance their performance and analytical skills. This will help excel in similar examinations like Science Olypiad, IIT-JEE, AIPMT, AIEEE, SAT, CET etc. later on.
