1. What are the programs for which the Selection Test is held?

This test is for admission to the following classroom programs:

  • IIT-JEE Achiever 2010-12 Regular program.
  • IIT-JEE Achiever 2010-12 Integrated program at select Associate Institutions.

2. What is the format of the test?

The test of 3 hours duration will have multiple-choice-questions in three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

3. What curriculum is the test based on: ICSE, CBSE or SSLC?

The test is not based on the curriculum of any Board. However, the questions are framed at the expected level of understanding and skills of a student who has completed 10th Std. Statistics of our earlier selection tests indicate no distinct advantage to students of any particular curriculum.

4. What is the objective of the test?

The test is aimed at evaluating the abilities of observation, comprehension, analysis and problem-solving.

5. This test is held about a week after the class X examination. Is the time enough for preparation?

The test is aimed at evaluating the level of understanding and application of concepts, which a student is expected to have acquired by class X. There is no specific preparation necessary.

6. What should I bring to the test?

Bring your admission slip, 2 sharpened HB pencils and an eraser. The answers will have to be marked in an OMR sheet using HB Pencils only. Space for rough work will be provided in the question paper. Use of calculator is not permitted. Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the test centre.

7. When will I know the results of the test, and how?

Results announced on Wednesday, 14 Apr 2010 (14-4-2010). You can know the results through any of the following means:
  • From our website http://www.base-edu.in
  • From the notice board at our office.
  • We will mail the results to the email address on 14-4-2010, if you have provided your email address.
  • An SMS will be sent if a mobile number has been provided at the time of registration

BASE reserves the right toadd/delete centres based on response from students. Decision of BASE on this will be final and binding on students.

9. What is the difference between the Regular program and the Integrated program?

Both the Regular and Integrated programs of IIT-JEE follow essentially the same teaching methodology. The same faculty will teach both the programs.

Regular Program
Students who opt for the Regular program have the flexibility to choose

  • the institution they want to enroll for their PU/+2 studies.
  • the stream of study (CBSE/ICSE/PU).
Students can choose a convenient batch and centre to attend the IIT-JEE Achiever classess.
The Likely timings between which classess are planned to be conducted are:
  • three days a week in the evenings between 5:30 PM and 8: 30 PM at Basavanagudi and Yelahanka (VSAT)
  • three days a week in the evenings between 5:00 PM and 8 PM at Rajajinagar and Jeevanbimanagar
  • Six days a week between 6 AM and 7:30 AM at Basavanagudi (Monday to Satuday)
  • Six days a week between at CRM PU College between 2:45 PM and 4:15 PM (This batch is open only for students of CMR PU college and CMR NPS)
Note: Additional classes may be scheduled as and when necessary.

Integrated Program
Students who opt for the Integrated program at a particular college will join that college for the PU course. The venue for IIT-JEE training for them will be their college, reducing commuting and making more time available for studies. In addition, academic cooperation between the college and BASE will enhance synchronization of teaching, thereby facilitating students. coordinated preparation for PU and IIT-JEE.

10. How are selections done and allotments made to the courses available at different venues?

Admission will be based on
  • Your position in the merit order in the test.
  • Allotment of a seat in a batch at a particular location is dependent on a student's position in the merit list and the vacancies available in a particular batch.

11. When will the training programs commence?

The programs will commence from the week beginning 26-4-1010.

13. What is the registration fee for Selection Test?

The fee is Rs. 300 inclusive of service tax.
